Don't Forget to be Thankful for the Dog...
People in the United States will be getting together with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving. We think and talk about the things that make us all grateful and celebrate with a big feast. It's also my favorite holiday!
Here are three reasons why I'm grateful for my Basset Hound, Hunter.
1. His antics make me laugh out loud. He really is a silly character. If you have a Basset Hound, then I'm sure you know what I mean. I love to laugh.
2. He gets me out for a daily walk which we both enjoy. If not for him, I would never go for a walk.
3. He's been an awesome member of my family for almost 10 years. He's loyal and affectionate (when he wants to be) even though he usually pretends to be aloof (LOL).
Here's a photo of him engaging in one of his favorite activities... sleeping... with his ear over his eye (LOL again).

Lost Souls: FOUND! Inspiring Stories About Basset Hounds is a book containing a wonderful collection of true, short stories about homeless Basset Hounds who have been rescued and adopted. The stories are written by members of rescue organizations and those who have fostered and adopted. Each story is about two to four pages long including a photo of the dog. Some stories are sad because they describe horrible treatment and / or conditions that a dog previously lived through and therefore became a 'lost soul'. But ultimately each soul is found as the dogs overcome their past and become cherished family members who enrich the lives of those around them.
